My favorite shots from the past while!

I know I generally do reviews and things, but I felt like doing something a little different this time, so today I’ll be showing you all some of my favorite shots outside of review shoots that I’ve taken in the past few months!

I actually do a lot of standalone shots, or I’ll sit down and think ‘wow, this would be pretty neat’, so I’ll set up the camera and everything, and end up getting one clean, solid shot out of anywhere between three and twenty. Those of you that might follow the daily pictures on MFC might know a few of these, since I’ll post them there when I have nothing else to do with them. Others that found this site through other means probably haven’t seen any of them. =P

The above shots of Yurippe were taken on the opposite side of the same dam I took Drossel and Miku to back in 09. I’d really like to take another figure down there sometime, too. It’s such a gorgeous spot for figure shoots!

Even though Kanade’s wings are made of rather cheap plastic, I still love the effect they get in the sunlight!

These two are of my re-shoot of my Corticarte, that I originally did in 09. I don’t like a lot of my older shoots, so I’m re-doing them here and there. The re-shoot will eventually be up, just like Simca’s is. I did the bottom shot as a new version of this picture. I think it turned out much better this time around, what do you think?

Yuyuko by some of my flowers earlier this summer. =3

Riko’s adorable and I really, really love Animal Detectives Kiruminzoo a LOT. That being said, this figure is adorable as well, but it’s so overall bubbly-plain that I’m still unsure if I want to really do a full shoot of her. She really doesn’t have anything exceptional about her, but it’s because the detail on the figure is lacking since there really wasn’t much detail to her to begin with. (But I still wish they would do Riko’s two sisters as well, I’d LOVE a full set of the three girls… and maybe even the boys too!)

From my second attempt at a photoshoot of Aya. Still not all that happy with the overall set, so I’ll probably have another attempt in the future. I really love how this shot came out, though. It’s another one from the local dam, but a different spot from Yurippe.

Grands Ikaros, that I actually really adore. I wish they’d hurry up with Nymph.

Who is it? Oh, it’s just your friendly neighborhood drunken loli!

Probably one of my favorite shots of the entire year. This was taken way back in the spring, and it still makes me smile!

I’ve found I really love trying to take silhouette shots of my figures. This one isn’t a full silhouette, but I’m proud of how it turned out. The fact that you can see some little details, like the skirt ruffling up, makes me happy.

The other of the Kuroneko shots. I did the one in the opening and this one here on a rainy day when the power went out. I decided to take advantage of the gloomy atmosphere and try to do something with it, especially since I’m not very good with low-light pictures. I’m glad I tried, too, since I love how they turned out!

Lastly, I realized only recently here, in the rush of changing jobs for the second time this year and all the craziness of the summer/early fall, that I missed my two year mark of my site! One-Coloured Othello officially turned two years old on August 24th, hooray! I’m glad I’m keeping it going, albiet only slightly at times. It’s really made me grow as both a figure photographer and an anime fan as a whole!

Until next time, thanks for reading!!

  1. I really enjoy your photos and the figures just looks so beautiful with them. I especially like flower shots and Yuyuko and also your Patchouli ones are fantastic. Yurippe’s stream is amazing as well. XD Hope to see more of them!
