Today it’s Haruka’s turn, the newest girl in the Angelic Island set!
So here’s the third in Kotobukiya’s continuing set of Angelic Island Idolm@ster girls! So far they haven’t been too disappointing, besides Miki’s little gaps on her sides, and the girls look great when you put them together!
Haruka definitely looks as splendid as the other two girls, and she has a super cute pose!
I also really like how her swimsuit fits her personality, just like Makoto’s and Miki’s do!
Honestly I’m really glad that we’re seeing a lot more Idolm@ster figures lately. They started making them just in time for the anime to end, and I didn’t even think I’d be so into it. But the girls are cute and Koto’s line definitely accentuates all the good things and puts them into 3D much better than other companies have in the past.
I really love how nicely sculpted Haruka’s entire body is – especially her legs and feet.
Her hair is sculpted rather nicely as well, and there aren’t any issues with seamlines.
Just a single seam where the bangs and the back of her hair are, like usual. Some nice shading on her hair too.~
She looks good from other angles also, which is a nice thing about this line. I’ve noticed with my Megahouse and Wave Idolm@ster figures, they only look good from certain angles. But with Koto’s, you can look at them from any direction and the face still looks spot on!
She has such a happy expression too, I love the fully sculpted mouth. From the front it really gives a great representation of Idolm@ster characters in the games, but from the side you get to see more of a ‘human’ touch to her!
Her pearly white bows are really cute also! I’m glad they didn’t leave them lackluster – they look like ribbons should!
The only thing I really have an issue with as far as Haruka goes, and it’s a rather minor one, is that her necklace is actually made with a real string. The string came all bunched up and it just won’t look right no matter how much I try to straighten it out.
She looks really cute from the side too! She has a bit of a mold issue above her swimsuit top on the side there, and her swimsuit bottom has a gap between the frilly skirt part and the part around her hips, but you can’t normally see either of these things so it isn’t a big deal. Her stomach is super cute from this angle, though.
Her back is super sexy, and I’m glad Koto decided to have the swimsuit top be a separate piece around the back, because it really drives home how slim she is and you can see it doesn’t quite fit into the middle of her back just like it would be on a real person.
Her nails are painted perfectly, but not in a really bright or rich colour. It really looks good on such a natural looking figure, anything brighter than that would be overkill.
Her other hand has a bit of that old Koto sheen to it, though, and it’s pretty noticeable if you’re in a well-lit area. I’m not sure if it just happened to turn out that way, or if it’s a result of the packaging though, since I haven’t had that issue with Koto figures in a long time.
She has a cute butt. =3
Seems like she could use a bit bigger of a swim bottom, though! Her rear is slightly peeking out!
Her legs are definitely well sculpted, as I said before they’re one of my favorite parts of this figure.
Gladly she doesn’t have the issue Miki had with the base, either. Her foot is firmly screwed into the plastic base, which is nice.
Her feet are super cute and well-sculpted too!
Her toes are fully sculpted, as you can see from the side. They actually look like they move! It reminds me of Erio’s feet, honestly, and that makes me really happy because you don’t get to see really well sculpted feet very often.
Her base is red! It’s super cheery and suits her just fine, I think. I can’t wait to see Yayoi’s bright orange base next, even though she’s not out until March!
And here’s the pictures I seem to be taking with all my Idolm@ster figures thusfar, with some lighting change to bring out all the curves and dips in the figure’s sculpt. For some reason I’ve really loved doing this lately, haha.

So there’s Haruka! I think she’s really cute and definitely a great addition to Kotobukiya’s Angelic Island line! It makes me happy to have pre-0rdered Yayoi, and to see that they’re continuing this line with Hibiki after that! I really hope they make a full set of the Idolm@ster girls, I’d be sure to buy them all!

This is Jooji from MFC. Thanks for this great review. I also ordered Haruka:3 She’s really well sculpted and charming. My dream is to see Chihaya getting released in this series, she’s my most favorite idol, i adore her so so much. Takane, Iori, Yukiho, Ami and Mami would also be instant pre-order.
I really, really want a decent set of Ami and Mami together somehow. I ordered Wave’s BQ’s of the twins just because I’d actually have the two together since it seems rather unlikely that anyone else will sculpt them unless they’re going for a complete set. If they were to come out for either Megahouse’s Pink Diamond Luxury set or for Koto’s set here, then that’d complete my four favorite girls (them, Miki, and Yayoi). Total dream, but I have a feeling I’ll keep dreaming. =(
